APARTMENT IN FRANCE

The apartment is part of an old farmhouse renovated in 1995. It faces South and is situated on a hillside off a quiet road about 3km. south of the village of Flassans sur Issole in Var, Provence. Below the house, the paths slope down through the valley which is mainly heathland, then up the hill into woodland. Over the top and the process starts again. In fact the place is surrounded by accessible forest and meadows which harbour a huge number of butterfly species

The accommodation comprises a large lounge, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen and is ideal for 2 people (there are a couple of extra folding beds though). A good sized pool, tennis court and boule court set in terraced, well kept and shady gardens are great for just relaxing when the butterflies get boring. Its about an hour to the Grand Canyon Du Verdon and a half hour more to Mont Ventoux, both great places to visit for the scenery (and for the butterflies of course). The Cote D'Azur is 40 mins. away with a whole host of places to see - St. Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo etc... Everything is included so you can drive there (ten and a half hours from Calais) or fly to Nice (one hour) without worrying about exceeding your luggage allowance. If you're looking for an active, noisy night life, the crickets are about the nearest you'll get to it, but the moths are out then of course.....
